Who we are

This website is operated by Eight Two Digital, a trading name of Eight Two Studio LTD. We're registered in England and Wales, company number 13902739, registered office 9 Limelight Lane, Sittingbourne, ME10 1FU. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Eight Two Studio LTD is the data controller for information collected through this site.

What we collect, and why

Enquiry form.When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number (if provided) and the message you write. We use this to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to prepare a quote and deliver the project. The form is processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service, which forwards your submission to our inbox and does not use your data for any purpose of its own beyond that delivery. The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you've chosen to send us, and, where a project goes ahead, taking steps at your request to enter into a contract with you.

Prospective client research (outreach). Separately from this website, we sometimes identify local businesses that might benefit from our services and contact them directly, using business contact details that are already publicly available (for example, a phone number, email address or social media profile published by the business itself). We hold this business-contact information under our legitimate interest in reasonable, proportionate B2B marketing to businesses we believe may be a genuine fit for what we offer. It is not linked to any activity on this website, and you can ask us to stop and to delete it at any time using the contact details below.

Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies via the banner on this site, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site, pages viewed, general location at a country/region level, device type, and how you arrived here. This is never loaded or run until you actively accept it; see our Cookie Policy for the full detail. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't turn into a project are kept for up to 12 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. If you become a client, we keep the information needed to deliver and support the project for as long as that relationship lasts, and certain records (such as invoices) for 6 years afterwards, as UK tax law requires. Business contact details we hold for outreach purposes are deleted once we no longer have a reasonable basis to keep contacting that business, or sooner if you ask us to. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own default retention settings, currently up to 14 months.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal data. It's shared only with the service providers needed to run this site and our business: Web3Forms (form delivery), Vercel (website hosting), our email provider, and, only if you've accepted analytics cookies, Google (Google Analytics). We don't use your enquiry details for marketing unless you separately become a client and agree to that.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it's wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@eighttwodigital.com.

Concerns and complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, tell us directly first at hello@eighttwodigital.com and we'll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and do our best to put things right. You also have the right to complain directly to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk, at any time, whether or not you've raised it with us first.
